I think I'm going to put a nav unit in my vette this fall.My car is a 2006 3LT with bose and on-star. I already know it is plug and play install with these options.
I have been searching the forum trying to figure out if there is any difference in the 2005 units. Since my car is an 06 i don't have radio controls (introduced in 07) and i obv don't have bluetooth (08-09 units i think). So I'm pretty sure that means i could get any year unit between 2005-2009 I think. I know 06-09 I'm good but i don't know if there is anything quirky with the 05's that won't allow it to work properly.

Something changed mid year 2005 for the factory NAV. There were several TSB's issued and they always refereed to before and after a certain VIN. Check it out.
The only difference that I know of was that the 05 units would not play MP3 files as delivered from the factory. Late 05 or early 06 GM came out with a software update on a CD that allowed those units to play MP3 discs also.
