NAV unit installation
I have a 3LT (whatever that is in 2005), non NAV C6. I would like to put an OEM NAV in but need to know how hard it is to put in and if there would be any sound degradation in my Bose system?
If you replace your stock unit with an aftermarket unit you'll need a dash kit, metra harness connector harness to plug into your vette radio harness so you don't ruin your stock radio harness, and a antenna adapter that will connect the existing radio antenna to the aftermarket unit.
If you decide to upgrade to a navigation unit there are features on the navigation unit that you'll have to check to see if your car have the components to uitlize the features of the navigation unit. For ex. XM radio, gps antenna, digital radio receiver, radio antenna modules to name a few.
If you have no need for xm you won't need those components.

I forgot to add if you go to the aftermarket you'll need a General Motors Class II data bus interface. This will allow you to keep your factory door chime, and Bose system features with the aftermarket radio.
There is a really good DIY written by a forum member showing lots of pics and parts needed to do this type of install.
