That's what I get when I try to start my '09 Z06. Yes, the battery is dead since I haven't driven the car for 6 weeks. Last week I put my battery charger on for a day and tried to start the car. Wouldn't start, just clicked.
Today, I put my fully charged boost pack on for 1/2 hour, and again, it just clicks?
Thoughts?

Won't start for anything? Might be time for a new one. Odyssey, Optima Yellow or Red, Die Hard??? Mine was down for about 2 weeks during December while doing mods, but was able to charge it back up thankfully.

good grief! an '09 batt. that is that dead that you need a new one? I hope not!
I suggest a jump start and then drive it around for 45 minutes. but be near home.... then have the batt. checked.
you may still need a new batt. how sad.

Crap. Ah well, I won't be driving the car for another few weeks anyway. Guess I'll pick up a new battery when I'm ready to drive it again.

Does your battery charger have an amp guage? If so, it should have gone up to whatever you had it set at -10,20 40 amps whatever. If it is reading current flow, it's charging. Some automatic chargers are tempermental when batteries are very discharged. Connect a voltmeter to the battery with everything off, turn on the charger. Both the amp guage and the voltmeter should go up. About 2 hours should be enough time to bring a low battery back up at 20amp charge rate. 12.6 volts is fully charged. Turn off charger, attempt to start it and watch the volt meter. It should not go below 10v while it's cranking.

try dealer first. Or take battery to any auto parts place like an autozone that has a charger/tester. usually they will test/charge for free and then you will know if you need a new battery. this really sucks that these cars electrical systems kill bateries the way they do and GM is doing nothing to fix it other than recommend you buy a charger.

Sounds like it didn't get charged. If the booster pack was good, it would have started.

My charger is an old POS. Not sure if it was working properly.

Like I said, if your battery was discharged and your booster pack was good the car would have started. Make sense? If you are going to BUY anything, buy a charger. Any newer car will discharge the battery after 6 weeks. You can't accurately test a discharged battery. If the car is going to sit for more than a couple weeks, you should either start it and let it run for about 20 minutes or keep a battery tender on it. Alot of people want to trash talk their corvette's and GM. What other cars do they own and let sit for extended periods that start right up? The last thing I would want is to watch some guy drag my vette up on a flat bed. After you get it running, have the dealer do a parasitic draw test to make sure it is not abnormal.

The batteries are from AC Delco, which is no longer part of GM.
Every OEM AC Delco battery I've owned has died suddenly (my 2005 Corvette and 1996 Corvette) or leaked acid (my second battery in my 1996 Corvette).
Sounds like a warranty problem.

I had to replace my Delco battery in my 2005 Coupe because I didn't start the car for three weeks. Now I make sure I start it at least once every two weeks and the new battery is doing fine without a trickle charger. I bought the Sears Platinum battery. I have had good luck with Die Hard's but wanted to try their top of the line battery. The Platinum was about $200 but has a very good warranty. I think it was for 4 years free replacement and the next 3 years were prorated. I thought it would be a good investment the way these Corvettes eat up batteries. If I recall correctly...the Optima warranty was a weak point that convinced me to go with the Sears Platinum. I have also seen quite a few negative comments regarding short life span on the Optima's too!
Just my opinion! The Platinum may turn out to be an expensive mistake, but, Sears is local and generally honors their warranties faithfully!
