Default Active Handling Issue

Hello to all, I'm having a problem with my vette & wanted some advice. My car has been acting up from about 3 months now. I have spent quite a bit of $$$ replacing parts with no success, any advice would be appriciated.

Problem: Car's active handling light turns on from 5K to 5.5K. While the car is not loosing control when the active handling turns on things get squiggly....

The dealership replaced the Yaw sensor (on steering shaft) to no avail. When I took it back they blammed it on my wheels/tires (CCW's). Ive had these wheels/same size tires (have changed the tires once) since 2006, so I'm not buying that....The profile is 35 on the front & 30 on the rears in case this helps.

They also said it could be one of the pins that is loose on the computer. The only way to fix this is to have them check pin by pin to fix any loose one's. This would cost me a lot more & they cannot garauntee this will fix it.

At this point I think they are reaching to see if they can find the problem. Please help or advise. Also I live in Jacksonville, Fl if anyone recommends a reputable shop.

Thanks!!!

Try cleaning the connections to the wheel speed sensors.
Also check for loose wheel bearings

If not the yaw sensor, next look at the steering wheel sensor. It is usually one of these two sensors.

Are you getting a Service Active Handling message along with the instrument panel light being lit? The light on the instrument panel will light if there is code set in the system or if the driver turns off traction control or active handling. The problem could be where they are indicating. Did you ask them to tell you what codes were present when they had the Tech 2 hooked up to the car? Steering, yaw and lateral G sensor signals all go to the EBCM. If the connector pins at the EBCM have a bad or loose connection the failure will show up as a sensor error. Poor connections are the most likely cause of any electronic failure so those connections should be checked. Although the area where the EBCM is mounted is a little cramped you can do that kind of stuff yourself.

I tend to look to the dealer for doing this type of service. Most other shops don't have the training or equipment to do a good job diagnosing an ABS issue (AH and TC are part of the ABS).

I've had this problem for over 3 years. GM can't figure it out.
