Default top won’t move

I’m at wit’s end myself. 2010 GS. One day when putting the top up it just stopped like the others reported. In 5 minutes I was able to pull the top down. I’m not sure if the cover fully latched although it is very close. I’ve tried everything I’ve read to do to no avail. To summarize:

disconnected the battery and re-indexed the windows numerous times

checked all 4 fuses and they are fine

removed the relays and scuffed the terminals to ensure connection

rotated the relays and tried each time to ensure one wasn’t bad. (Side note: it’s interesting mine only has 3 relays on the fuse panel even though the pic in the manual and on the kick panel show 4. The 4th slot is open)

parking brake is pulled

partition is snapped in place

I tested the partition and brake on/off and the car “knows” their position and when out of position so I’m thinking it all works. Is is there any other switch or plug-in I need to check? I’ve had this car six years and it’s been flawless. Thanks for any additional things to check or words of wisdom.

Ok , guess Ill try to keep this string alive, been working on my top for a while. haven't figured it out yet.
the Message on the display is: Top not secure, Handle is locked. I replaced the Micro switch in the header, Still get the message top not secure, unlock the latch hold the top button in the down direction, both windows go down, the tonnaeu cover goes up to vertical and the top goes up to vertical and stops. then nothing. I check the micro switches, they all have continuity when the switch button is press , I kept trying and now the cover will not release, Fuses are good. The top will go up from a full down down position to half way and everything stops again , the top module seems to click about 6 or 8 time at this point, don't know if is trying or failing. Does anybody have ideas?
yes I re-indexed the windows, Partition is latched. could it be a the top module?

The switches work in sequence. If they all work, one may be out of adjustment such that it isn’t triggered when the top gets vertical. Not sure about the lid not releasing though. I tried rotating the modules to rule out a bad one. Easy enough to check.

I could hear my lid pull down motor cycling and popping like it was stuck and assumed it had stripped a gear or something. After replacing it (for no reason I now see) it (the whole top process) still didn’t work. The lid would catch on the edge of the waterfall going up and down. I assumed that was out of adjustment which was also wrong. I finally took it in to the Corvette shop here and he ultimately determined the passenger side lid shock had a broken mount. The shock had fully extended when operating the top and everything got out of whack and the switches were out of adjustment. It also had the lid slightly out of align which made it stick at the waterfall.

I’m not sure if something else caused the initial problem and I broke the shock or what. When I was jacking with it trying to see which of the steps were faulty and the lid wouldn’t release at the right time my “encouragement” may have busted the shock mount. The shock may have been faulty to start with and put things out of align causing the whole problem.

The final call was busted shock mount and switch adjustment. Works fine now.

Thanks worked for me today but you do have to do both Windows at the same time.
I wasted ages checking fuse and relay.
I lost my electric top button usage after battery failure.

Default Top wont close?

Have an 06 and my convertible top opens and goes into the trunk. When I attempt to close it, it gets half way and then stops, the tonneau cover stays up and the top sticks half way ?
I am able to use the power switch to put it back in the trunk and the tonneau cover closes completely but when I try to close it it continues to stop half way??

So after about 10 minutes the top relaxes and about 2 minutes later the Tonneau cover relaxes and I can manually put my top up.

Any Idea what's causing this?

Check that the pressure relief valve is tightened down.

See the pic in my earlier post.

If you can move the power top manually, it means the pump isn't holding pressure.

This is an old thread, but THANK YOU! I had the same problem and forgot I disconnected the battery when replacing the park microswitch. Couldn't understand why my top wouldn't do anything. Window indexing never crossed my mind, but all is fixed now.

I see my "new" problem is an old problem with an old solution. Thanks. It works great now. Great forum!
