Does the C6 have a cable to connect the gear shifter?
On my C5 there was a cable that connects the gear selector to the auto transmission. Twice it has broken and I had to have it towed in for repair. Now I have a glorious 2013 60th anniversary Grand Sport in Crystal Red. Does anyone know how the shifter connects to the auto tranny, is it still a cable or have they come up with a more solid way? Thanks for any comments!
Yes, cable and its the end grommits that wear out, and pop off.
No, you don't have to replace the entire cable, just the inner grommit end pieces that you can get at any auto parts store as they begin to wear out.
Thanks! I hope mine stay good for a lot longer. I looked up that bushing in the picture, number 14055, and most sites say this doesn't fit on the 2013 Corvette. One site showed this larger, thing like a cup. I am thinking of having a local Corvette shop check my bushings, and maybe be proactive and change them. It's the only thing that ever left me stranded, when my C5 cable gave up. Happy motoring everyone!
