Safety Car
OP, I see you have a grand sport, this is another option to be cheaper and easier to do than the vararam. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ke-shroud.html
I had already made my own, then saw this. Here is a graph of dyno pulls of my vette, when I had headers installed. I had this air intake mod on it. It was sunny and 95 degrees here in Florida that day, and even after 6 dyno pulls, the engine was still not pulling any timing. That tells me that it was keeping the intake air cool. I have a dashlogic device, and I daily monitor the air intake temp, and it is never been more than 5 degrees above outside air temps, even in heavy traffic. Naturally, when you shut it off in the hot sun, the temp sensors will creep up to almost engine temp with any setup, until you start the car and pull in some outside air.
The graph shows how much HP and TQ I had on the 1st pull, with no tune (only LG Super Pro 1 7/8" headers, high flow cats, and this air intake) and then the 6th pull.
