Default oil pressure sending unit

Ok yall...looks like I have a bad oil pressure sending unit. oil pressure is pegged at 80 psi on gauge. i am wondering if someone can tell me where its located? I dont want to just jump right in and start taking sensors out.

Ooops.....sorry. Don't know how that C5 thread got in there. I'll delete it.

Here's the procedure for C6:

Engine Oil Pressure Sensor and/or Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure

Remove the left engine sight cover.
1. Clean area around the oil sensor/switch before removing it.
2. Remove the vacuum hose for the power brake booster.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector for the oil pressure sensor/switch (2).
4. Remove the oil pressure sensor/switch.

Installation Procedure

If installing the old sensor, apply threadlocker sealant.
1. Install the oil pressure sensor/switch.
Tighten the engine oil pressure sensor to 20 N•m (15 lb ft).
2. Reconnect the oil pressure sensor/switch electrical connector.
3. Install the vacuum hose for the power brake booster.
4. Install the left engine sight cover.

Again, very sorry for the confusion. :o

OK I SAW THE DARN THING. It's sitting right behind the intake manifold and there is NO way to stick your hand back there. For those that cut the firewall... does it look ugly afterwards and can water get into those pesky places where its nt supposed to...?

I think the hole will be my choice if this goes bad on me. I don't even want to lift my supercharger off the engine to get to the sensor

Here is the hole or cut method:

Changed oil pressure sensor today on c6. Not easy but got it done without removing intake. It was reading 0 and is now fixed.

Yep, and with the right tools, you don't have to hack holes in anything to replace an oil pressure sensor.
