Default Changing Lower Radiator Support

I have a 2005 and was wondering if this was something that is easily done without a lift? I had to take my inner fender liners off yesterday and noticed that both rear sections of my lower rad support are sheared off. I'm pretty certain I bought the car this way, because never have I had an experience where the rad support bars would have been hit. I also noticed, upon further inspection, my fan shroud is actually resting on the front sway bar, I'm quite certain that if I were to remove the sway bar (which is something I was going to do yesterday to install poly bushings) I'd have been in for a rude surprise.

I digest, but I was just looking for anyone with experience in changing this part. Is it possible/easy enough on jack stands? Any DIY's or instructions save for buying a service manual?

Thank you all, and have a great day.

I would think you could get it done on jack stands. Ive removed the entire front end on jack stands. I havent seen a DIY for this as you are the first person Ive heard of having it sheared off. I dont think it will actually fall out if you take the sway bar out because the hoses and lines will keep it held up. Im sure its not good for it to be loose though either.

Perhaps I shouldn't have said sheared, but both of the rear sections of the piece are snapped off at the welds, so it is only connected on the front part of the support on either side.

I'm confident that I can replace the part myself, I just don't want to go in blind, anyone mind shedding some light on what all will need to come out to change the part? I've seen a couple of posts where people mention that they have changed it on their own but I haven't seen any details. I'm not opposed to buying the service manuals if need be, especially for torque specs and such. I'm just trying to get out as cheap as possible since I've had a few unexpected expenses arise lately.

Thanks for your time

I would think just the radiator needs to come out. That is the only thing that sits on it. You can swing the condenser out of the way easily.

I have a procharger and the kit requires the radiator support to be replaced. If you do a search for installation instruction for a c6 procharger kit it will give details on how to remove the front bumper cover. It can be done on jack stands that's how I did mine
