This is in regards to an '05 GTO but haivng the LS2 I thought Id get your opinons here too.
First I will say I am going about this a bit backwards but plans somethimes change.
I originally hadnt planned on many mods and had just put on shorty headers and had a dyno tune done. It made decent power but you all know about the addiction. lol
Anyhow this past summer I had a small cam put in and another tune. It made 390 rwhp and I starting kicking myself for not using LT's in the first place.
So I have bought some LT's with catted mids and willl have them on in a few weeks.
Questions: How far off will the tune be that I am running now?
How much more power do you think I should make with the LT's on?
The exact mods are cam 224/224 580/570 112LSA with a ported stock intake.
Is this an auto car or M6? I would expect to see a 25-30whp increase easily depending on what LT's you go with. Your tune will be off I would suggest that you get a tune after they are installed.
Most people claim that shorties are only worth around 5 hp. Long tubes are worth around 25. So you should pick up around 20 hp. I really doubt that your tune will be that far off, but if you want to optimize your power I'd get your tune tweaked.
Unless the tune is locked, yes, you can use predator to adjust the tune.
I do not know how effective it will be. You will need to adjust LTFT and maybe the VE tables. To do it correctly, you will need a wide band to see what your WOT AFR's are and adjust the PE tables accordingly.
The tuner I use will readjust my tune for free when I make MODIFICATIONS. Chuck COW at Corvettes of Westchester.
I have never used predator and don't know what all it will adjust but, its NOT going to be any where near as versatile as HP Tuners or EFI Live
Kooks and American Racing are the best headers available. How much horsepower you gain is going to be a result of how bad/good your JBA shortys are.
I have used the Diablo Predator. Bill's right, as long as your tune isn't locked you can log some runtime and make adjustments. You will need to download the programs associated with it. If you haven't already done it, you may need to turn off the codes from the rear cats (you will also need O2 extension wires with long tubes).

I dont believe its locked--and Im sure the tuner had already turned off the rear O2's when he tuned mine before.
Ill log some data after i get them put on.
