Default Plug recommendation w/ boost?

I'm running about 7 lbs of boost (E-Force) and wondering what's the best longest lasting plug to run? Any recommendations and reason for such would be appreciated...

NGK TR6 is the plug most FI C6's use. Its one heat range cooler than the stock plugs. The cooler plugs help prevent detonation.

Are you sure they didnt swap em out already? I think its all part of the install deal when you get FI. Most shops include it in the SC package.

Your car isnt FI. Every forum FI installer here (that I know of) uses the TR6. Why would the TR7 be a better option for the OP?

I use TR6s but have come to the realization that they need to be changed every 6k miles with high boost (over 14psi). I have had charging issues twice that battery and alt swaps dont fix that then gets rectified with the plug swap. Believe what you will but Im one of a dozen who had this issue with the same remedy.

I havent tried TR7s

Its about HP and compression and safety( engine).

The cooler plug does not hurt a thing. Maybe some of the FI installers don't know as much as you think they do? Don't know really, I cant speak for them and I don't want to or get into a discussion about them either. But I do know there is a lot of coy cat that goes on so..... if one installer says the TR6 is fine then 50 of them say so.

The TR7 is safer, it's a cooler running plug. If the price is the same why not be safer? Is it absolutely needed in this case.. probably not but if his engine is running hot and the air is hot and he gets a little pinging here and there with the TR6 then the TR7 might solve it.

I just sent out 2 sets of TR9 for an FI car. A cooler running plug can foul quicker is the only detriment. I know tuners will tell you to run the hottest plug you can get away with. Builders look at things differently, we see the internal damage.

at 7 psi the tr6 is fine, over 12 psi the we use a NGK BP7EFS which is the equivelant to a NGK TR7 which is not even produced, above 17-19psi we run the NGK R5724-8 plug. i havent needed anything colder so far

BR7EF is what I call the TR7... tip projection is the difference IIRC?

I have the BP7EFS in stock as well but guys were preferring the BR7EF instead.

I index mine and they work well.

I've read all kinds of things blamed on them. Charging issues etc. Stumbling at low RPM's which happened on my 2008 C-6 I sold.
Happened after I put the car back to stock using the stock plug wires.

New owner changed the plugs back to stock No stumbling.

USE MSD PLUG WIRES with the TR6 plugs!
