Default E-Force Supercharger Dry Sump Installation

I have a 2010 Grand Sport manual with the dry sump. Has anybody installed either kit on the dry sump car??? What is needed extra to complete the installation?? Thanks.

The dry sump requires some extra work. I am trying to find out what is involved.

I was down at TPS ( Campbell, CA) earlier this week and they told me that Edelbrock is modifying the kit to fit the Grand Sports and they'll be the first ones to try them. Give them a call.

It's certainly been done. Saw a GS Convertible with one on it at a drag event at Texas Motor Speedway. LG Motorsports did the install. Maybe check with them.

Edelbrock has not released the kit yet for the LS3/LS7 dry sump motors. It is due out in Feb.

Grand Sport convertibles don't get the dry sump motor.

They would have been Grand Sport Coupes with 6-speed auto transmission. Autos don't come with dry sump option.

The Grand Sport dry sump kit will be a different animal. The one obvious visual change is the passenger side coil cover will be different...no dipstick tube hole, your crankcase ventilation is different necessitating a different valley pan and associated plumbing for it and the biggest change is going to be the fact that your dry sump motor has the Z06 oil cooler up front. That cooler will have to go as it offloads too much heat into the supercharger heat exchanger. The last I heard the plan was to use the ZR1's fluid-to-fluid oil cooler but I haven't seen it yet.

Straight from Edelbrock's tech forum....

Hello,
The dry sump accesory kit will include the following:

-New valley plate with PCV fitting for dry sump
-Proper crank pulley bolt and drill fixture bolt for dry sump
-Different PCV lines to route to dry sump tank
-ZR1 liquid to Liquid oil cooler to replace air to oil cooler, which
compromises performance of intercooler
-RH coil cover, without dipstick hole

-Rob

Thanks Rob. The best info I have seen yet. Looks like a tried and true version will be a few months out if we are lucky. I may go another route.

I suspect that the GS dry sump version and the Z06/LS7 version will be released around the same time since once Edelbrock makes the changes to install a E-Force on a Z06 you should have the changes to mount the LS3 E-Force on a dry sump LS3. But, that's a guess on my part.

I understand the Z06/LS7 E-Force is ready to be released except for the completion of the tune. Since the tune on a regular LS3 should be the same as a dry sump LS3, I would think the unit would be ready for release any day now.

The non dry sump LS3 Grand Sport uses the 1590 or 1591 Edelbrock E-Force kit.

One thing that no one has talked about yet is the inevitable fact that the addition of a ZR1 oil cooler setup is going to drive the price up on the dry sump E-Force...mo parts = mo money!

And you know the Corvette tax on a GM ZR1 part is going to be steep.

The ZR1 cooler alone is about $450.00 at the forum parts vendors. Add in the lines/plumbing and I can see it driving up the price of the Dry Sump kit by maybe as much as a grand...ouch.

For those that haven't seen what a ZR1 oil cooler looks like here is one attached to the ZR1 pan.

Last I heard, this supplement kit was going to be around $1,200.
