Great question-

When you're trying to remove the manifold from the heads, those bolts hang up in the heads. It's like you need to lift them while pulling the intake forward. You need to figure out how to keep them off the heads entirely BUT since the cowl is so low, they can't be removed like the others.

Just makes it easy to remove and install, they don't get hung up on the heads.

Got you makes complete sense. I'm going to be putting my fast on when the weather starts warming up over here and your write up helped me tremendiously.

Jason, another AWESOME tutorial. I'm really liking you being a step ahead of me on every mod!!!

You really should take it to the track and see progress. This is the first time I have done so, and it's fun to see the et's whittle away and the mph go up.

Are you re-tuning after the swap?

Yep, I'll have ECS do a mail order tune when I find an extra $150. Until then, I'll deal with the light. Tha car feels amazing with the full exhaust and FAST

What's up with you're cam install?

Good to hear your getting a tune, mine was crazy lean after the Fast install + it needed less timing.

Cam install......Hopefully towards the end of the month I will have it buttoned up and tuned.

Did you have to get any special adapters for the ls2 fuel rail and injectors to fit on your Fast 102?

Nope. I comes with the proper injector 0-rings and bolts right up.

If you want excellent detailed instruction for stock Intake removal and Fast 102 installation, go to http://www.peakspeedshop.com.

Hope that helps!

Good tips and pics...but you don't need to unhook the fuel rail and get gas everywhere. You can, if you're careful, use a screwdriver shaft to carefully pop the injectors out of the manifold - start at the corner on one side, then work down that side, then pop the other side out the same way. Don't pop the injectors out of the rail! That leaks fuel.

After you get the injectors out of the manifold you can lay the rail back on the windshield out of the way.

I have a 2002 c5 that I am going to install this fast 102 on. I wanted to see it installed on another c5. Maybe you could help me minimize/prevent a problem for me during this install by helping me learn from the problems you ran into. Pictures are a great way for to learn, first you hear it and learn it, then you see it done and its like a light was turned on.

To be really honest, it's pretty easy and straight forward. As long as you follow the directions in stages and be sure to install the valley bolts supplied with the FAST and torque them in the correct sequence, I can't see any problems. I didn't pay attention to the MAP location for the LS1 but it should be right on the rear so be sure to drill the hole 1st and clean the intake out.

You'll be just fine but if you need anything answered while you're doing the actual install, any of us would be happy to help.
