Default Blew my motor... hole in LS2 block Part 2

This thread is a follow up to my original blown engine thread.

Click to read part 1

I figured it was due time to give you guys some pictures of the carnage that happened. I owe a huge thanks to Stephen over at East Texas Muscle Cars for helping me out and working with me.

New Build
LS2 402ci longblock (9.2:1 CR)
Callies Compstar crank & rods
Wiesco pistons w/steel piston rings
ETMC Stage 2 blower cam
ETMC ported AFR 225cc heads & ARP head studs
TSP ported & polished oil pump
LS7 roller lifters
Rollmaster timing set double roller
ETMC's full return style fuel system, supports 1500hp+@crank
Trunk mounted, dual nozzle AIS Meth kit
ETMC 6L80E transmission clutch pack upgrade
ETMC beefy trans cooler w/fan
Vigilante 3400 triple disc high stall torque converter
ZR1 Front end conversion (conversion from CIANCI, hardware from PartsTaxi)

And... ETMC is doing a change in stripes.. going from 2 stripes to 1, from white to red. It'll look and drive like a totally different car. Other than the frame and interior, it kind of will be :P

Some pictures ETMC took of the AFR 225cc heads:

Carnage Below

I'll post a bit more info on what we're doing to the car later tonight

Sorry to hear that. Good luck with your new build. Your link didn't work to the first thread.

Well, it's almost been 5 months since it happened. I'll tell you, when it blew... I was simply in total mis-belief that it happened. On the way home, I joked with the tow truck guy to just let her fall off the back and total it I was kind of in hysteria, you really dont know what it's like to have your engine blow up like mine did, until it happens to you. And trust me, it can happen to anyone.

When I woke up the next morning and my car was dead in the driveway, it was bad. It sat in my garage for a month while I decided what I wanted to do. I contacted the place that I originally used for every single aspect of my build, but in the end I chose to go with East Texas Muscle Cars because I received much better customer service with them, and they literally went out of their way to accommodate my situation.

It's a great story to be able to tell people, and having pictures helps show just how bad it is, but Stephen@ETMC says it's one of the worst engine blow ups he's seen.

Nobody ever beat me with what I had... I had people saying "my car has 750rwhp how'd you beat me", and supposedly I was at 571rwhp.

Anyway, I have a 2 year old and I just put down a lot of money to fix my car, I've learned an expensive lesson and to me it doesn't matter who accelerates faster, I dont want to be the one left on the side of the road with a huge hole through my engine block (again).

I just want my car to run again, I'll leave the d*ck measuring contests to all the other guys.

Hopefully it's a lesson we only have to learn the hard way once.

Hopefully that will not happen to you again. That must be a truly sick feeling. I think I would rather have my car totaled than lose the engine like that (as long as no one was hurt). I was just thinking about what you said and I can't imagine and I have several other cars to drive. I'm glad you have it all figured out and looks like your new build will be truly epic. Good Luck.

Well, how I felt when it happened was one thing.

When I had to tell my wife...

I've been driving our beater car, a 2001 Ford Focus LX with no power windows/locks/doors/anything (100hp on a good day )

I think I compose myself so it seems like it's all figured out, but really I rely very heavily on what the experts tell me and I try to base my decisions on what they recommend. I told ETMC from the start, that I don't want to focus on making big #s, I want to focus on stability and drive-ability. I want it to last a long time, and I want it to be as safe as possible. That's where the Meth under boost and the upgraded full return style fuel system come into play.

This build will have lower IATs (meth) + lower compression + lower boost, so it should be a much safer build. And I figured while everything is apart, we may as well upgrade the clutch pack before some crap breaks in the transmission. If it goes out, it'll at least have lasted longer than it would have
