Two Thumbs UP for Maryland Speed and I don't care if they ARE on the other side of the country or they aren't "politically correct", when I'm ready for headers, I'm supporting THEM!
I don't see what all the complaining is about. If the op and others want cheaper China headers go buy them, you do have that choice.

Now I will say if you look at maryland speeds kooks package deal it's really good...

you get kooks headers
catted x
and vararam for for 1700 or 1800 for LS3/LS7

Thats like paying 1400 for the headers and catted x.....hell of a deal. Thats the way I am going....LG wanted 1650 for just the headers and catted x...thats with the PM sale price lol

I came from a 04 cobra so modding was cheap and easy....these vette are a bit pricey but, I drive a vette and you pay to play...

If i go to olive garden I expect bang for my buck....If I go to J. Alexanders I expect a lighter wallet...

When you buy from Maryland Speed is when you see the polish...Top notch service and honest company with good pricing...

Hell he goes out and buys the cars that uses the stuff he sell and tries it out first hand...and tell people the real truth.

If there is blame for the Corvette tax then blame the industry. The "no public release" sale price is the US industries way of making sure they don't get drawn into bidding wars over the internet...Kooks and Corsa have been that way for years...Hell The golf industry taught them all. Titlist/Callaway and Ping...Ping has done it for 40 years...Those 45 a dozen pro V1's and not 35 dollars better than a Maxfli dozen and Ihave an ace and an albatross to prove it.

I too would love a nice all included header system with cats for a grand but I don't see it happening....Hell I would settle for headers that would bolt to our mid pipe for say 800 bucks...but I don't see it happening..

We aren't going to force a vender on to do a group buy for a fairy tale price though by bitching when he explains his side...that is a sure thing.

Yea I heard the ousted ruler in Egypt is coming to run for office here in the states. He should fit right in with all our ELECTED crooked, outsourcing officials.

We should be bitching about the pork funds that are wasted just because they can get away with it.

People pay 3x as much for Nikes. They pay 3x as much for Levis. And here, it is not even a Walmart jeans vs. Levi's type argument. This is a company outright stealing anothers design. Kooks is a company who built their brand on great fitting headers. When you copy their bend data you are basically stealing what makes the brand. No different than a fake Rolex, or fake Oakleys. For customers, there is value in known that they are buying a knock off based of a top brand like Kooks..because Kooks fit good.

People forget, 15-20 years ago, it was not uncommon to have to cut, hack or weld both headers, and the car to get a set installed. Bends, quality, and fit would be inconsistant because everything was done manually with unsophisticated equipment. Then companies like Kooks came along and started doing R&D and manufactuering with expensive computer controlled equipment that allowed for high quality, a trouble free install, and very few production inconsistancies.

When you shop for clothes, tools, and household items like electronics do you look pay that kind of premium to support the USA? Everyone has this mentality to some point, and that includes GM who buys parts from China for the C6. Are they scum selling us down the river? As said many times before if a distributor for one of the domestic header manufacturers can buy in enough volume to close the gap more they will sell hundreds of sets of headers. Maybe Maryland Speed is doing that now? But calling people out for something that you yourself are almost certainly doing in some other aspect is hippocritical. Everyone buys things from China, but how does that make them a target for personal attacks?

There's no complaining on my part, just trying to understand why no G/B on brand name headers has been offered. Several vendors has responded and I applaud all of them for that ! Still I am having trouble knowing there are many many companies that offer G/B on all kind of products. Hell my BMW 335 which is a twin turbo has all kind of G/B going on the bimmer forum (intercoolers, downpipes and exhaust) all the time. How come brand name headers here are any different ?
My only intentions were to save all of us some money and at the same time headers companies would pickup customers who would by their product a decent price and not purchase China made headers.

Sorry guys if you are not understanding my thread.
Once again, we know how well American made headers are, just give us forum members a great price for once and watch them fly off the shelf
