Default Cartek is so good, I'm shipping my car 1500 miles

We have several great shops in the DFW area, but after seeing all these crazy fast cars come out of Cartek, I've decided to bite the bullet and ship my car 1500 miles to their shop in NJ. They will be installing my new motor /cam/and tuning my car. I'm sure it will run like a beast!

My car will be picked up via transport in the morning... It was only $595 each way

Transport is a no brainer at $595 in my book. Look fwd to seeing your results.

Agreed... Shops around here that I've dealt with do great work, but they do and install and throw a half **** tune in there and send you on your way. They could care less if you reach your goals or if the car has great street manners etc.

Julio has talked to me a dozen times already about my setup and has answered all my questions. I really wish they were local, but I'm just happy that I could work it out!

Wow, that is pretty extreme! That monster motor in Cartek's hands should produce maximum results.

You never told us what happened to your original motor. Come on, spill!

I think it was a spun bearing, but I won't know until it's torn apart... It developed a knock after the fast install.. Maybe something fell into the intake during the swap? Honestly, I have no clue...

None of my business but since this is fresh in my mind, a friend bought a car across the country over a month ago and it took the bargain basement shipping company a month to get it to him just last Friday...with many broken promises, etc. He thought it had been stolen! I'm guessing they were just sitting on it until they had a full load down to Miami.

It could have easily gone south..with damage or even theft...so it pays to do your due diligence on your shipper and not be penny wise and pound foolish. Double check to ensure they have proper insurance if something does happen. Most importantly use a transporter someone can recommend to you.

He highly recommends Exotic Car Transport instead of the bargain basement folks. He'd used them in the past, as has a dealer he knows but this time he tried to save a couple hundred.

That's quite a hike, what are you going to do if you have a problem with the car when it's returned?

I fully trust that Cartek and ERL will stand by their work.. It's an ERL block so if there is a problem with that, I’ll be contacting them. Julio is installing the cam, motor, tuning and checking the valve train. I'm pretty confident in both parties. If there is an issue, I'd have to figure out what happened and go from there. Considering they are two of the best in the business, I'll take my chances.

a couple years back i had a mercedes tuned by a shop behind carteks. at that time i never had a corvette but said to myself one day when i get one it would be the first place i would go since seeing there shop and all the corvettes they always had outside the shop.

2 years later i purchased my vette and the first week of ownership it went straight to cartek. Julio and Max are top notch guys.

they did a full bolton/ cam package for me and i couldnt be happier.

btw im gonna be leaving the car there in the next few weeks for a fast 102 and nick williams ported throttle body installation and dyno tune so ill probably see your car there
