Default Intake Manifold Removal Steps

For those who are planning to remove their intake manifold to get it ported or for other modifications, we have created step by step removal instructions.

Most weekend mechanics can do it themselves in an hour or less.

Here is the link to that page on our web
http://www.peakspeedshop.com/page6.php

Having your intake manifold and throttle body ported can be one of the lowest cost ways for you to gain more horsepower. For more information on our porting and powdercoating services, go to http://www.peakspeedshop.com/.

I hear the ls2 will gain the most from porting, do you have any before after dyno comparisons?

Looks like the TB and intake porting might be my next mod before I slap a supercharger on. Is a tune required right after the porting or can I get it to a shop 60 miles away.

I wouldn't see an issue with that, the tune is just to make the most out of the added flow. Not sure how lean these cars are from the factory so you should maybe stay out of it on the way over though.

Our shop just does the porting, not the dyno work. So, I don't have any before/after dyno reports to show you. However, customer results indicate that the LS2 basic porting gets 9-13 rwhp gains and our LS2 radical porting gets 15-20 rwhp gains. Yes, you're right.... the LS2 gets the best gains out of the LSx mix from porting.

Yes, a tune is required after the porting. However, driving it to a shop 60 miles away shouldn't be a problem. Just so you know, intake manifold porting will make very little difference once you switch over to the supercharger. It would just give you more driving pleasure until you make that big investment.

Bob,

I'm in Denver and I am very interested in having you do the radical porting on my 07 LS2. Would it be possible to drop it off ? Also,,what is your typical turn around time ???
