Since i changed my C5 for a 2008 LS3 C6, i always thought it was hanging low..very low....But, i was reading all posts about not to worry about the front air dam scraping the ground....Long story short, i was curious and sent it to the shop......
The long bar ( i believe it is called a front leaf spring) that goes from side to side is broken ! Not all of it, but going to...
2 problems....i do have to change it before i'm able to see if i can play with the suspension adjustment to get it higher a bit.
The part number used to be # 25962573, but has been chaged for 15233396.
The problem is, when i try to order it, it tells me it goes on a C5...is it the same part ?
Where do you suggest i order it from ? ( i'm in Canada ) The dealer is charging me 850 !
You definitely want to change that part (we normally call it a "transverse leaf spring") before doing any adjustments. In fact, I'd drive the car home carefully and park it until the part(s) arrive, or just leave it at the shop.
Spring breakage is rare but not unheard of; some aggressive solvents can attack the composite material, or it can be scratched during maintenance and develop a crack.
Not sure where to order a new one, but they ain't cheap.

Thanks for suggestion.

Check fitment between years, models etc. with your dealership.
Just saw a front leaf spring on Fleabay for $175.00.
gm parts house or parts taxi will have better prices on new parts
or just buy a used one off the forum or ebay or one of the many corvette parts recycling companies
I can have a set of low milage used front and rear C6 Z06 springs on there way to you tomarrow for $200 plus shipping. You will NOT find a better price. And they will improve the way your car drives. There are other sets on the board for sale but there $250+ plus shipping.
After i read your message tim, i went to the shop. There is only one model aht comes out for a C5. Nothing for a C6. Same thing with taxiparts.
I'll PM breecher to see if he has the right part that fits my model.
If you have a solution, let me know !
Thanks
I got your message, It is out of C6 Z06, it is not the same springs you have, they have a different spring rate but are a direct replacement for the ones you have. They will actually make the car ride better as the Z06 has a more sport tuned suspension. The price is for both the front and rear. (you want both, if you just installed one the spring rate would not match the other spring you have.) I can ship to canada and I take paypal. $200 up front and Ill let you know the shipping cost once I print the UPS label (you will have to foot the 3% paypal fee as well).
Let me know if you want to pull the trigger, I can ship tomarrow.

OP, this is a great deal if you need a replacement. It's about as good as it's going to get in my opinion. The leafs are not that hard to change yourself at all once the car is up off the ground. I would jump on this. JMHO
I am replying to your messages here in the thread because your not sending them to my inbox, your posting them to my profile.
Yes, I am 100% sure these are a bolt in replacement for your stock springs. They are just stiffer and more performance minded as they were designed for the Z06. Your car has springs in the front and rear, they look pretty much the same. They are just long composite pieces that go from control arm to control arm. You need them both since you would be changing spring rates, replacing just one with a Z06 spring would make the car ride funny. So for $200 Plus shipping you will get both front and rear springs and you not only fix your problem, but will get a better ride out of it.
As I mentioned, if you want them and make payment tonight, i can ship tomarrow and you can pay me for the shipping once there on there way.
