That is correct. The vehicle was built and tested by our facility near Katy, TX... Happens to have a very special place in this month's Corvette Magazine, The Cover!

127mph?

Seems very low for a 700hp motor.

It's a Vert and it's an Auto.
I'm sure a 6spd would be around 131-132mph

Nice car + warranty is good for piece of mind.

How much would one expect the add or take away for 'vert' vs a comparable coupe in the Qtr? ((((assume all else equal please))))?

Last edited by gsx1300r; 10-07-2011 at 03:48 PM. Reason: added 'in the Qtr'

Vert is less than 30 lbs heavier, not like the old verts that were a few hundred pounds heavier.

Is this Hennessey package considered a production car as the Callaway cars are? I ask because some places like Germany dont allow any performance mods at all from factory stock. A callaway is a production car so anything they did to it is stock for that car. If the Hennessey package is the same, its a great way for military guys in those parts of the world to take advantage of modding a corvette.

No...127mph is VERY slow for that car.

This guy just went 129mph in his A6 Vert without heads, cam or longtubes that this car has. AND it was with an LS2, not an LS3 like this car.

Something is definitely very wrong with that run to not EASILY break 130 mph. I would expect it to be closer to 133-135mph. We're talking about a car that should be over 600rwhp. If the run was made in the middle of the Houston summer and 100+ degrees outside I can understand having pretty low MPH though.

Temp and track conditions make a big difference at that track. I have similar power with a Maggie LS3 and M6. I've had a pass at 132 and way more in the high 120's. Without some seriously sticky tires, you can't go WOT until quite a bit of the track is BEHIND you. Not conducive to getting big bragging numbers.

Well that's why I said something must've been very wrong with the run to only cross the line at 127mph

Is Hennessey reputable again? I thought there was a big problem about failure to deliver, parting out owners cars, etc a few years back that put them out of the "good to do business with" category?

This is old, but I'm surprised people continue to give him money.

My friend, truer words have never been spoken!!!!! I was a big viper guy a few years ago and the things i could tell you about john hennessey would make you cringe. Ive noticed some people have very short memories and thats what hennessey banks on. Just a word of advise to every member on every board, BUYER BEWARE!!!!!

And did you see how much they charge? Omg why not buy a Lambo for the price of the car plus upgrade? I googled this company and couldnt believe what I read. If this is a different company then I sorry.

It's the same company, but I have not heard of any issues in the last 6-7 years.
