Spoke too soon LOL...new new bests in my bolt on C6 - 10.7@127.29mph! :o
Almost exactly 5 years ago I set the record for the quickest ET in a bone stock C6, surprising even myself in the process....and this car has just kept on delivering ever since.
Went to the track yesterday and came home as the new all time highest trapping naturally aspirated bolt ons only Corvette under 427 cubic inches.
Made 9 passes in total with a series of low 10.8s throughout the day and ya know it's a good day at the track when your worst or screw up/throwaway passes are a 10.910 and an 11.002 LOL.
But the highlight of the passes was probably being able to surpass Dennis50nj's amazing bolt on trap speed that he's held for a few years now (his car still holds it for ET of course). Dennis and I share/discuss info/ideas often and my car is set up somewhat similar to his back when his was still a bolt on car, both also having been tuned by the same highly skilled LSx tuning shop (Cartek Performance Engineering) so I knew the potential was there.
Not all the bests came on the same time slip (as usually tends to happen with my car).
___ 60'.............1.51
___ 330'...........4.44
___ 660'...........6.90
___ 660’ mph....100.16
___ 1000'.........9.01
___ 1320'.........10.78
___ 1320’ mph…127.29
Best sixty foot - 1.50
Best 1/8th MPH - 100.55
Best trap speed - 127.53
Here is a pic of the three best time slips (car# 364):
Thanks for looking.

congratulations Marc,I knew this day would come, and you would be the one to do it, the a6 has me beat with the stock gearing, i cant believe it has lived so long, but that Cartek tuning has kept it alive I know you will surpass my et one day i cant go back to give you a run to see who will be best when you do maybe i can put the stock cam and springs back congratulations again

Congrats on the great times. What is it about ATCO that makes it such a fast track? It seems a lot of the best times come from there

Holy crap, -3000? That's insane. Brb, buying a new house in Jersey. My wife is from there so I'm sure she'd oblige.
Although, to play devil's advocate--is it wrong to feel like it's a strange form of 'cheating' to record times in such freak circumstances?
I understand and applaud the the car/owner for doing a great job taking it down the track, but having such optimal conditions really skews the results, does it not?
Or is that just me?

But if he ran this yesterday at Atco then at just before 10 pm last night the DA was even lower then -3000. Depends on when he made his pass.

Full disclosure is important, that's all I'm saying. When you hear of a bolt-on LS2 or LS3 going well into the 10s, you start to wonder what in the bloody hell is so special about the combination of parts...then you realize that it's not the parts, it's mother nature.
Either way, it's a great feat to pilot an A6 car to the 10s with bolt-ons so congrats on an even better timeslip.

Its not just mother nature...There is a lot more to it than that.

I'm not saying any rules were violated or anything of the sort--I was just trying to understand what makes a bolt-on car so much quicker than the rest of the field, ceteris paribus.
In addition to the selection of parts and driver skill, mother nature is at work here helping propel the car to an unusually fast timeslip.
A lot of people who post on this forum are interested in making their cars go as quickly down the 1320' as possible, myself included.
When I see times like this, I try and understand and learn what is making the car go fast so I can apply it to my own ride and improve on my personal bests.
I don't want to hijack the thread anymore so again I'll say congrats on such a great timeslip

Marc....Congrats! Would'nt it be great if the Jersey boy's could make a road trip to Sunny Florida this winter and race against the South Florida crew. I would certainly entertain the thought of driving to Jersey if I was assured the weather would allow me to get there safely...race...and drive back home. But thats not going to happen until next spring. Got to love those negative DA's......
