im looking for info from anyone running 10's on the motor with m6 ls2's..is it fairly easy? im about to do a cam only or h/c setup and i wanna know if anyone has any ideas for a good h/c package or a cam only 10 sec car would be awsome..i have an m6 car..i also would like results from auto guys also any info is apprciated

the LS2 is capable to run 10s pretty easy with bolt/ons with an automatic a4 & a6 the m6 is a little harder unless you are a very good driver, cam only ans heads and cam should net 10s easy with a good driver gears and clutch with et streets

i didnt say that, the ones going super fast are great drivers, plus everything is perfect the launch track prep the air dew point DA, side by side you could win, a lot of heads and cam c6 zo6 have a lot of power and traction is a problem and hard to drive

if you are a good driver, car set up right, you will win more then you will loose. you could run 10.5s the top 3 z06 are the best of the best, and went all in, a max effort

yeah but thats z06's with bolt ons im talking about z06 with a cam also...but i street race so i trying to see a comparison..i barely see the track

you can probably hook better on the street with less power, but dont run them from a roll, you can do a nice nitrous system to equal the top end

Going 10's with a heads/cam m6 takes a fair amount of practice. It's not easy putting it all together. You have to launch HARD to get it done.

A h/c ls2 doesn't have a chance against a cammed Z with equal drivers.

Driver skill means a lot with a Vette. A sharp driver can whoop a lot of more powerful cars because all that money spent on mods doesn't mean anything if it goes up in tire smoke.

Not so much with a GTR. Anyone can win with that car. It's a gun in a knife fight.

Yes there are quite a few all motor LS2s in the 10s, it's been done with heads & cam manuals and automatics, cam only and even just external bolt ons automatics.
But it is NEVER easy LOL, especially with a manual.
But with a well thought out heads & cam package, gears, clutch, sticky tires and a great driver it can certainly be done.




Cartek Performance Engineering (www.cartekracing.com - 908-317-4496), they were the first ones ever to go 11s in a C6 (it was done with a manual bolt ons only LS2) and the first to ever go 10s in one as well (manual heads & cam LS2), this was all done back in 2004/early 2005.
The first ever 10 second bolt ons only C6 (non Z06) was a Cartek installed/tuned LS2 as well. ('dennis50nj' above).
They definitely know their way into the 10s naturally aspirated (or blower, or nitrous, or turbo) with a late model Corvette and are a loyal Corvette Forum board sponsor for MANY years now.

Well I am a real good driver but when launching I'm always afraid the rear is gonna break but I see a lot of guys launching real hard so I kinda mild sauce off the line...so tell me this..can those stock diffs take a beating with hard launches??? I have a 06 rear ,and I know u do some nice launches..if u say they can because I plan on doing 4.10s after a while but for no 3.42s but if they can ill start launching my *** off lol...no one locally really knows c6 rear strength....whatcha think????

I got 301 hard launches out of my 05 rear with 3.90 gears...cracked the case on 302. So far have about 160 on my c5 rear.

I think 4.10's help the rear and the clutch live by getting the car off the line quickly. It's like using a longer lever to get a bolt moving. Makes the job easier so the parts last longer. I have 60,000 daily driving miles and 460 launches on my OE clutch. Something is helping make the parts live, I think the gears help. Plus I never run street tires so I don't get wheel hop...though last Wed I had a little axle tramp...that was scary. Make it through though. Ran a 10.95 @129 but nothing to brag about, I'm looking for 10.57 but doesn't look like I'm going to get it unless I trailer up to MIR and do some daytime running in -1700 DA on their super well prepped track.
