Theofel and I ran 10.81's as our PB's last Sunday, me with a 5 and him with an 8...so I'm quicker.

I think with a cam you will join us.
i got rid of the cutouts since they were causing way to much knock, now im about to have some Z06 mufflers. Im really hoping that knock is what is keeping my mph down. I'll just have to join ya'll with a stock cam since i dont ever really plan to get 1, but i have been thinking of a supercharger. the supercharger is looking very tempting since i will be in cali for 4 months and only 130 miles away from A&A.

happy birthday joe

Default Happy Birthday Joe!

Not to hi-jack, but curious of the difference in cam and converter size from the swap Theofel?

The larger set-up was with a 241/259 on a 113 with a 4000 Yank stall. Only had it at the track once and it was a hot and muggy day. Turned an 10.76 and a 10.79 @ 127mph with a DA of +850. I think it would have run in the 10.6's with some cooler dryer weather. Just to much cam and converter for my taste..on a daily driver. Replaced the cam with Spinmonster 230/234 on a 114+2 and had the converter re-tweaked by Yank to a 3600. Drives real nice on my 62,000 mile 08. Had this set-up to the track twice and turned a 10.81 and a 10.83@124mph with a DA of -600.

Yeah that's a monster cam for an LS2, better suited in an LS7 unless youre shifting that thing at 7400...happy belated bday to you as well!

I know this is an old thread but I am trying to learn how to launch my 02 Z better and it seems like Joe has this figured out. My question is what suspension setup were you running to be able to get 1.4 60ft?

Bone stock suspension.

A good resource when starting out is Ranger's website, pay attention to the launch techniques and the clutch care.

www.rangeracceleration.com

A key to my success is my 4.10 rear I added and 2.97 first gear my car came with, along with the shortest tires I can get, 275/40/17 or 315/35/17 Mickey Thompsons (315's only fit on the c6 wide body so use the 275's.).

Here's an in car video of how I do it. I floor the car as the tree is coming down and walk out the clutch slowly, but not too slowly. I start to release the clutch about 5k and it revs to 6 or so before it starts to engage. It's a feel I have after doing it 497 times in my car.

That is the key...if you look at any of my run scans you'll see I try to launch the car at torque peak say 4800 and I keep it in the meat of the HP range through the entire run. When you launch lower at 2000 or worse biog the launch the car has to climb the HP/tq curve and her results in 1.8 60 foots.

Find some of my run scans where I analyize them and that should help. If you can't find any I can look tonight after work.

There re is another thread that I think you could use which I will post up when i get a minute.
