Hi, I'd do a search on the clutch spring removal.
Read on it's function! I'd pop it back in! The feel of the clutch when I had the spring out was poor. Plus it didn't return completely to the top. Can't see where anyone thinks it an improvement with no spring! Plus thats a pretty slow GS for stock let alone with
mods! Good luck on improvements! The driver mod is key!

Oh and its not "your's", it's "yours". Please see the first statement.
And yes, I'm new, clueless, very slow, and I don't doubt for a second "yours" car would eat mine alive. By the way, what model are you rocking, ZR1? boosted Z06? It must be very fast.

^^Not worth it gents.
Rock-n-Blue and I have different opinions on the clutch spring going back for years. While it's true GM says you need it or the orifice in the master may not be exposed and thus fluid may not be flushed back and forth...my experience says otherwise.
Plus RNB08 doesn't have 450+ drag strip launches on his stock clutch.
So believe what you want. I speak only from experience, mine and others.
RNB 08 there's no need to be so rude to Kerrdogg...He was at the track for his first or second time with this Vette ON STOCK TIRES experimenting with different launch techniques. Some drag radials and he'll be a lot faster.

For starters, its "you're" not "your". If you're going to insult someone, at least try and use proper grammar.

You're is short for you are! Your car is your car!

You said it yourself. "Your too new" should read "You're too new"
But Joe's right, it isn't worth it.
You're not worth the time to educate.

Hi everybody, I guess Rock'n Blue 08 confused Justin for myself when he decided I was an idiot. Yep I might be new to Vettes and I might have someone do some of the work for me but that doesn't mean I am new to the world of drag racing or speed in general, maybe just wiser.
As stated before this is my putt putt, a fun street car, one of 5 vehicles I currently own and drive. It will never be the fastest vehicle I own (that was my last Mustang, it went 7.02 @ 202 mph with a single 106mm turbo) and as a matter of fact in current ranking it's in 4th place, my Tundra is still slower. Now don't get me wrong I always appreciate educated criticism or concern, Joe for example offered advice at the track and filmed some runs for me. Justin has been there to bounce ideas off of, he has accomplished a lot with a little in a short amount of time and impressed me for sure.
I'll finish up with this, go get a Grand Sport and make some runs with it and let me know how you do, not what you could, should or want to do. GM said my car should run 12.30's @ 117 mph stock, I live in the land of Corvettes, old women drive them here daily and I haven't seen a stocker run that good yet. My headers should be installed this afternoon and the car is penciled in for dyno tuning tomorrow. It is my theory that I will see a vast improvement as it seems the stock manifolds are acting as a bottle neck, if not I'll keep digging while working on my other projects. Good luck with yours.

Good post John. Sorry for the rant in your thread--I don't like when my friends are attacked out of nowhere.
Post up when you get those new dyno results. I bet you see close to 40whp or more

FYI...I just weighed mt '12 GS coupe, 1LT, 6spd, NPP at the local landfill; 3,280 w/ a qtr tank of gas so I'm thinking it's likely @ 3,220 bone dry.

I have a large sized cam(232/240 .600 lift) on my C5 FRC with stock manifolds and stock h pipe exhaust... that said my car is faster than yours too (117-118 trap).

BTW 2 friends that had FRC's both ran 12.70's @ 112 and change with just a cold air kit so I believe it, they were also almost 400lbs lighter than the GS. I would look into headers to complete your package, I didn't want them when I started this deal but it's obvious the manifolds were holding the power back with detonation.
