Need some help from you GS/LS7 guys - dry sump oil line touch headers
Hey guys,
Im in the middle of a LS2 to dry sump LS3 conversion and did a test fit up of my LG street series headers and dry sump to pan oil lines. They touch... not good. Can any of you GS or LS7 guys take some pics of the mounting location of the dry sump can and tell me how much slack you have in your oil lines? Also, show me some pics of the proximity of oil line to header. How much room do you have between them?
I see two solutions.
1) find or make longer oil lines. Anybody know where I can start looking for this? I need 1/2"-1" longer than existing.
2) find headers that give more clearance. Are GS headers specific to that engine? I'm re-using my LS2 street series headers right now.
Something has to change. The dry sump can mounting location can't change much as it's pretty much shoe-horned in right now.
Here is a pic of what I'm up against. The oil line bolts aren't tightened and already they touch the headers. Even with the headers removed, the lines are pretty snug when bolts are tightened up.
Thanks for any ideas.

the lines aren't even cinched up in this pic. They are pretty tight without the headers there. I don't think I can slide the tank over any more, but I can try. I definitely don't feel comfortable letting the oil lines and headers touch, even with wrap.
I really need some pics of what it's supposed to look like. Currently, I'm using the existing nutserts that held the ECO in place on the LS2. Those work well, except it appears that they are a bit too far away.
