I read that you can mount 275 width tires on the back of a reg c6. I want to either mount nitto nt-05, michelin super sport, or vredestein sessantas which only come in 275 35 19 (except the nt-05s, i think). I have super sports on the front and love them and firestone wideovals in the back.

Can i do this? Any suggestions?

You probably can mount 275mm tires in the rear but they'll have to be much taller than a 35 aspect ratio. The front and rear tires have specific different diameters that have to be maintained to keep the computers happy. You have to stay VERY CLOSE to original diameters.

Go to; http://www.1010TiresizeCalculator.asp and enter your stock sizes to get a diameter then find a correct sized 275mm tire of a brand you want.

FYI, my 2008 Z51 equipped "regular C6" came from the factory with 285's, but I think the wheel is taller, being 19 inches and your's is likely 18 inches if not a Z51. The 275 width should fit but as the previous post cautions you have to watch the height or the ABS/ASR sensors won't be happy. Also will fiddle with speedo accuracy.

The PSS comes in 255/40-18 and 295/35-19, so just a little larger than OEM both front and rear. Those are the sizes I was going use, and if not, then I'd go with a PSS up front and a PS2 in back in OEM sizes.

It looks like 295/35-19s are harder to come by and 295/30-19s are a little too far off.

the 275/35-19s are only 1% off on circumference and significantly cheaper than 295s.

Any other input?

I keep seeing that the Firehawk wideovals are classified as "ultra high performance" apposed to "max performance", which is why I'm going for the 275/35R19 Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta which are about $450 a pair shipped. Cant beat that. (Also the circumference difference is only 1%)

Has anyone tried this?

Why run those narrower tires then what factory used.

Do a 305/30/19 on the rear.

I have hankook ventus v12 on mine. Alot of people run this tire i love them. Nice tire at a good price

I did Michelin Super Sports in 305/30 19 on the rear with 10.5" wide BBS wheels. Fit and look fine.

I think im going to stay away from the Ventus... they get good ratings but not the level im looking for.

I read the 305s are meant for 10.5-11.5 inch wide rims... will they work on the 10s?

They will work on 10's but I found the rear swayed under hard acceleration. Now that I put them on 11 inch rims, the swaying is gone and the 305 PSS tires work great.

Thanks for the input. I think ill take the 275/35 route at $450 for a pair of vredesteins over buying a set of rims and a $900 pair of PSS's (though they are great tires).
