Default Engine Dyno Results: LS3 427 stroker=639HP 610 lb-ft TQ

My freshly built LS3 based 427 stroker made 639hp and 610tq and 560 lb ft @ 3600 RPM on a Superflow engine dyno!

Not too bad for a small cam!

The engine build consists of stock LS3 intake, stock LS2 TB, comp 239/247 cam, Mast Motorsports Black Label large bore heads and a forged rotating assembly at around 11.2 compression ratio.

Hopefully it won't lose too much through the drive train with a 6L80e...

I got SUPER excited thinking they were going to be RWHP numbers

I assume it'll probably be around 560 or so.

LOL hey... the car is still going to rip! Technically the engine dyno numbers are a tad more than a ZR1 for a lot cheaper without a supercharger! It can be my wannabe ZR1.

639hp at the wheels would be nasty!

Fixed title. I guess not too many people have their engine dyno'd.

Smart to dyno engine before install and verify good oil pressure etc.

Where did you go to Dyno on a Superflow engine dyno?
Only shop I know in so CA is Westech (and they have two along with a chasis dyno).

When you get it together it would be great to get a whp figure then guys could have some better info available in converting whp and crank hp figures for auto cars near your power range. Should be a monster on the street

My guess would be that it'll still lose around ~60-70 just like a stock LS3 auto...depending on what converter goes in the car though it could be a lot more than that.

I'd much prefer an engine dyno sheet than a chassis dyno sheet any day of the week

Sweet numbers......I'm assuming SAE correction factor were used ?

Your package is making bigger numbers than the Katech Street Attack engine they just performed an engine dyno test on....and it had a FAST 102 on it.

You're correct, it was done at Westech.

Wow! Very interesting that my build smoked the LS7. I'm curious as to what the specs are for their cam. Are those LS7 WCCH's? Both WCCH and Mast Motorsports both have very good heads. I forgot to mention that I also used an ATI Super Damper for my build. Both engines seem to make great torque but mine is making the same torque at 3600 RPM VS 4000.

Found the specs via Katech's website-
Bore: 4.125”
Stroke: 4.000”
Displacement: 427ci/7.0L
Horsepower: 630
Torque: 565
Redline: 7000RPM
CR: 11.4:1
Block: LS7 aluminum, billet main caps
Crankshaft: 4140 forged steel
Connecting rods: Powdered metal titanium, rebushed with bronze bushing
Pistons: 4032 forged aluminum
Camshaft: Torquer LS7 110 or 116LA, high speed lifters, C5-R chain
Cylinder heads: CNC-ported LS7
Valves: Titanium intake, hollow sodium filled exhaust
Induction: FAST LSXR 102mm
Oiling system: LS7 dry sump

This makes my Ls3 seem more impressive after seeing the engine specs. Makes you wonder....

Thanks for the interest. I hope my build helped motivate others. I had a hard time finding data for other LS3 strokers.

It's going to be a long time until it's back together due to an unfortunate event.... I have to save some $ for other parts to put it back together. I plan to rebuild the whole car and I'm in no hurry.
