Need some advice, will a meizer water pump work well on the street? Has anyone used them ? I don't drive the car much but want it to run cooler.I already have Dewitt's radiator now I'm wanting the 300 series pump .I hear it's good for street use ,just wanting more a pinion .
I'm listening... I already have a manual fan control so I can run the fan with the "Engine Off" at the drag strip.. I no want to be able to do the same with the WP run it with engine off!
My neighbor as an LT1 that he races (its a 10 sec street car) and he has a Mizair WP for the last 4 years, never 1 problem! He swears by it... I plan on going that route myself.. Although I don't need the heavy duty radiator because I only run it 1/4 mile & then have 20 min to cool it down..
BTW he drives it to and home from the track (100 miles each way) and he drives it around town with no problems!
For a drag race car only it works great. For a street driven car no way as I had one short out and leave me stranded for no reason. For a road course car no way as I tried a second one and it couldnt keep my car cool at high rpm. Those are really designed for low rpm cooling and not ideal for moderate to heavy street driving.
I sold both of mine eventually and now run a manual happily. The ewp was worth almost 8rwhp on a dynojet.
I have one on my 11 GS (they are different on the 2010 and up cars) and like it so far. The ability to cool the car down at the track is nice, I'm in S Florida and have a 160 thermostat as well and my coolant temps are always around 195 - 200, had one on my o5 Turbo Mustang GT and on another Mustang project, never have been let down.

Do you have it set up so you can run the "Electric Water Pump & Fan" while the motor is "OFF" I think thats the most important advantage you can get with an electric WP...
To be able to run WP & FAN with the engine OFF.. it sure makes it easy to get your engine temp to what you want to run at... (150 deg for me)
