I understand the hesitancy. My best run stock converter and stock 3.15 gear was a 11.69@121.56. When I put the ss4000 in and 3.42 gears, my very first run was a 10.94 with no tuning yet. After some tuning I ended last year with a 10.78. He is starting off much better BEFORE a converter. I have faith that the converter is the magic.

get some skinnies, they are good for about .15 and 1 to 2 mph. the 3.42s wont gain you enough for the cost, you'll get about .15 maybe.
congrats on the nice time.

Not to detract from your great run, but 8850 ran a 11.38 in his '08 LS3 with stock converter quite a while back. See post #4756 IIRC
His is CRM, so you could still be the quickest white one.
The good thing about knowing that, is he currently is at 10.88 with a 3200 stall.
My best 60' with the stock converter was 1.85 and then a 1.55 with the 3600. If you get the estimated 1.5 to 2.0 quicker ET per .10 of the 60', then you'll be knocking on the door of 10's or maybe into them.

It certainly is attainable, a few of us have gone well into the 10s with bolt ons only 2.56 geared A6 cars.
A properly chosen stall should get your LS3 into the 10s in those same track/air conditions.
Those Trans Am WS6 wheels are a real nice match for your front polished 'Gumby' wheels too.

I want to keep taking this car step by step kinda like i did my g8 for some good comparisons. Next step will be the converter which like said in other posts im leaning towards the yank3600, i had the yank3200 in my g8 and i wish i had gone bigger down the road.
For my reference my g8 Did 12.73@107.4 with the same mods the corvette did 11.47 in heh.

The 3200 yank is weak-sauce for drag racing. I was totally disappointed in it. It's a fantastic street converter though.
