Default Won't start after battery replacement.

I have a 2009 coupe the car had to sit for a little over a year without being started and at the time I was unable to to disconnect the battery. Now I am able to start driving the vette again so I replaced the battery and now the car wont start. All of the accessories work pull the voltage up on the DIC and it is reading 12.1 to 12.2. Still thought it might be a battery problem so put a trickle charger on it all night went out this morning the car started and ran about 2 secs then died went to start it back and everything on the instrument cluster goes dark except for the service engine light. Also the green light on the start button goes dark. When I let out on the clutch the instrument cluster comes back to life but still get the same results when I try to start the car. When the instrument cluster comes back to life it says 'reduce engine power, service active handling system, and service traction control system'. Any idea what my problem might be? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Double check the connections on the battery. Loose?

Checked them still the same issue.
Could there be a security system issue(factory)? I don't have an aftermarket security system.

Sounds like something is literally sucking the juice out of the car. Gonna have to mull on this a while. Such as a large short in the electrical around the alternator area. Squirrels ate the wiring? This one is strange.

The battery sounds suspicious - have it tested at most any auto parts store - even wally worlds have a pretty sophisticated portable tester.

Get it load tested. Even new batteries can be bad sometimes.

The C6 battery clamps use special cone-shaped nuts.

The clamp is a cam-design... will NOT tighten with regular nuts.

It sounds like a bad battery. If the fuel in it is a year old that could present an issue once you get it started. I know on mine I had the battery disconnected for two months and as soon as I hooked it back up I had to fiddle with it to disable the security system. It had many of the symptoms you describe.

Ok double checked all my connections they are all tight. Took the battery to 2 different places and had it checked. Tried to reset the security system as stated above with no luck. Is there another way to reset the security system? Also could this maybe be a relay sticking or something like that? Because when I push the start button everything goes dark except for the service engine light but when I let out on the clutch the dash comes back to life. I am at a loss.

I'm having the same issue. Had AAA install a new battery on Monday last week. Have had to boost the car 3 times since then. WTF? :

Exactly like this:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...t-problem.html

That is, check your battery-to-starter-solenoid connection:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-t...oid-cable.html

Maybe worsened by corrosion if loosened/damaged before your extended storage.

Yup.

Might also be a combination of other issues, including:

1. Clutch pedal microswitch.

2. Brake pedal microswitch.

3. Pushbutton starter switch.

4. Crank mini-relay (#43) in the engine fuse box.

5. Unseen corrosion inside positive cable from battery.
