Default headers/exhaust question

I have a 2009 c6 base model and I am looking to put headers on the car and I am trying to find a good set that will make the car sound better. I don't want the drone sound to be unbearable inside the vehicle. I have done some reading on the kooks, lg, obx, american racing and b&b but they don't give a lot of details on inside noise levels. I am looking for anyone that has used any of these systems and camn provide some insight.

I have Kooks headers and Corsa Sport exhaust on my 07 A6 and the sound inside and outside of the car is nice. Most of the time, no drone = corsa exhaust.

I put a set of Pfadt headers on two weeks ago and love them. I have an otherwise stock 05. I did opt for no cats and am running Corsa Xtreme mufflers. The sound is so unique. At idle and cruising you can hold a conversation at normal levels in the car and I don't disturb my neighbors. Revving it up quickly under no load gives a crisp roar, then under load when acccelerating, it does sound like a race car. As far as performance gains, can't say, but the acoustic gains are incredible.

Drone will come from your muffler not your headers. I had the Magnaflow 14336 mufflers on my 2005 before the headers and it sounded fine. I then got the Kooks headers with x-pipe and high flow cats, got some drone. Then I did a cam swap and the drone went insane. Installed the stock mufflers back on, no more drone.

I went with KOOKS, and left the stock mufflers on.. its not much louder when I'm just driving easy, but under full throttle it sounds GREAT..

It wont attract any attention, its not that loud.. & I race it and have to drive 100 miles ONE WAY to & from the track, & I Agree With You I HATE DRONE thats why I left the stock mufflers on it.. & it has run 11.60 in the 1/4 so I doubt I'm leaving much on the table by leaving the OEM mufflers on it.. & I can listen to the radio and ENJOY it when I take the wife on a long trip!!
