Default Electric water pump LS2

I'm thinking of buying an electric water pump for my LS2. What would be the benefits, more power I have heard, how much.

And what are the negatives, does it flow enough to cool the engine on a track for example.

I found this one in the for sale section, would that fit my LS2 ?

After the installation, is it a plug and play job or do you need to wire it up.

I'm looking for experiences of owners, please chime in

Fred

There are benefits but one of the concerns would be to your reference of a "track". If you are referring to a road course type track then Meziere will tell you themselves the pump is not suitable for that environment.

For street driving and/or 1/4 mile track its a great mod.

Depends on what kind of track you mean - for the drag strip, super handy as you can wire it to ignition and have it run in the staging lanes to help bleed off heat.

it cools down faster in stop and go traffic & the 1/4 mile on the return lane, but during the burnout and the pass it heats up faster, it spins faster and moves more water then the stock pump at idle or low rpm, but at high rpm the stock pump spins faster and you run cooler, but there is about a 8-14 rwhp gain

I'm sorry, I should have been more clear. What I mean when I write track is what you would call a road course.

Like the Nürburgring or the Zolder track, I live close to both.

That's the key. You can turn it on independent of the engine to cool the heat soak. The reverse is also true...you can use that same feature to turn it off independent of the engine...drag racing. For the street, I don't see much upside. First, electricity is not free and second, the C6 electrical system is not loaded with excess capacity...especially at idle, which is important on the street. For street use, it needs to be running 100% of the time. It is not like an electric fan that can be essentially turned off at highway speeds.

Would not recommend it for that kind of track duty as it doesn't flow as much as the stock mechanical water pump at high rpms.
