2011 GS- Locked out of 3rd once car is hot
Ok, this seems to plaque me, first with my mustang, now with the vette...
Here goes- Driving normal, and spirited, when car is relatively cold, no problem with near redline shfts into 3rd. I use an open palm, no big issue...
Once the car gets hot (oil at 180+), it seems to block third when i am shifting at high rpms...
Car is 2011 GS, Have redline atf in the tranny, and a mgw shifter..
My best example- I ran an autocross yesterday with the corvette club locally. We did 12 runs. first six, no issues with 3rd, last 6, blocked out of 3rd 5 out of 6 times...
Buddy suggested Pfadt Tranny mounts, which I have no problem doing, if that's the problem...
I know in the mustangs, the torque at High RPm has the tranny shifting, so George's MGW or other fixed mount shifters resolve that issue. since I already have the shifter, is it possible that the tq tube or whatnot is shifting more at hot temps, thus causing the slight deflection locking me out of the gate that the tranny mounts would fix?

When you say block third you mean like you miss the shift and it wont go into third?
I have a 06 base model with the same problem. I know the GS is quite a bit different but def happens almost 50% of the time I'd say. When I first got the car i thought it was me but now I know its not. If i am bangin thru 1st and 2nd and then do a redline shift into 3rd it just won't even go in half the time. I've missed 3rd or have been "blocked" out of it so many times, very frustrating.
