I have a 2006 base coupe and it has had the service active handling message...big surprise right.
Anyway I also had an issue with he brake lights coming on when they weren't supposed to. My local dealer replaced the brake pedal position sensor and the lights work properly now.
I am still getting the service active handling message. I was able to get the car back to the dealer with the message showing. They scanned it and 2 codes came up.
1. Driver Door Module B1420 Device Voltage
2. 1PC U1000 Class 2Data Link
I wrote them as they were written, the corvette guy had left for the day, so no one there knew what they meant, but I was hoping someone here might have a clue.
I am thinking it has to do with the BCM since that seems to be the culprit in most of these cases.
The door module code indicates there is a low voltage reading at the door module. First thing to do is to check the car's electrical system to make sure the system voltage is high enough. The Class 2 data link code indicates the IPC isn't communicating with the car. A low voltage condition could also cause that and the Service Active Handling message.
