If its a small cam and meant for the stock tc the push should be minimal. However the cam is bigger it will be better paired with a stall to eliminate pushing through the brakes in traffic.

I assume they are talking with a stock converter. Put a higher stall converter in there and it will run fine.

My ls2 with H/C was using the stock converter for over a year. Not sure if the ls3 would be any different.. Cam was fairly decent sized too. I will say it was soft down low(as anyone would expect) but the car didnt push at all at lights.
cam was 231/240 617/613

Had a EPS 222/230 115+2 in my '08 A6 and had no issues at all with stock converter. I could have went bigger with cam and it looks like stanger383 is confirming that in his post.

Burning Brakes
226/238 115+3 cam here. Gained nearly 70 rwhp with it. It does not like to idle long at lights. I do throw it in neutral if I sit for to long. Pulls like a freight train.
Bucking and pushing through the brakes a little. But it's a car with a cam. Don't want that, keep the stock cam. It's a race car not your granny's caddie

if they didn't explain it well enough. That you had to come here n ask about it With a higher stall convertor you can run a pretty aggressive cam with out any real drawbacks. Or a well chosen small cam n stock convertor there are no real drawbacks
