Default 012 GS differential

I just bought a 2012 Grand Sport vert and in the early morning after sitting in an unheated garage all night, (temps in the high 20s) when I back up and turn the steering wheel the diff bumps and bangs really bad.
How common is this? Is there a quick fix for this?

Are you sure it isn't the front wheels skipping on a sharp turn? Normal for the GS with the big tires. Especially bad when the tires are cold.

In '08 there was a service bulletin about diff clutches binding up. I think the fix was nothing more than changing diff fluid, or maybe adding more limited slip fluid. My '08 did what you describe and the fix was simple and quick. Good luck.
