Don't let this happen to your slave cylinder.

At what temperature of what part causes this failure? What activity is causing the heat to build up enough to melt the bearing support? Was the car modified and if so in what way?
Bottom line was the car being used as it was designed to be? (Yes GM designers know that Corvettes are going to get raced)
I am trying to determine the need for this part. Clearly the factory part is sufficient for typical driving but how much more?
Before anyone knocks GM engineers and "bean counters" remember that better is the worst enemy of good enough. If a cheaper part will do the job then it goes in. Just like a Rochester 4bbl carburetor.

The problem is not only heat, but when you combine heat with varied tolerances of a plastic bearing support. Also you add in the pressure that the bearing experiences, constantly riding on the pressure plate fingers, and actuating against the pressure plate spring.
It's a lot to ask of plastic.
Like you said "If a cheaper part will do the job then it goes in."

Yes, this is why when asked about whether or not to get a new slave or a bearing support(In C6's/C7's). I always recommend changing everything in a Corvette, because it is such a undertaking just to get to the clutch.

Excellent, time to upgrade
Do you sell slaves with this piece already installed? I'm about to put a ZR1 clutch in my C6, tired of this ACT twin disc..

Obviously it's being miscalculated on the website as well as there being an issue as tax should not be charged. Just give us a call on Monday and we will get you taken care of.

LOL, as I said in the past, there is an obvious issue with the site and shipping calculations. Call the shop and we'll get you taken care of.
I've been working with the webmaster trying to get this rectified, the quick solution is very simple and requires a phone call.
