Default Magnetic Ride & Spring Rate

I recently put some Forgetar CF5's with 345/35/18 MT's on the rear. With my mag ride set on both settings, the rear is really soft and rubs a little when I hit certain bumps. I've tried raising the rear and it helps it rub less often but it's getting to the point where I'm going to get the 4x4 look out back.

I have mag ride in my 2012 4LT GS and my friend has a 2013 1LT GS that doesn't have mag ride but we both have the same rear wheel/tire setup. His car is lower than mine in the back and doesn't rub at all.

We are thinking his 1LT non mag ride spring rate may be higher than my 4LT mag ride spring rate. If that is the case we were thinking about putting my 2007 leaf spring in my car to help the softness and I can lower the car more like his. I don't road race and I only do straight line roll races, so I'm not too concerned if this affects the ride or handling a little.

So the question boils down to is the spring rate out of base car different than the spring rate of a car with mag ride and do you think this will help my softness issue in the back?

If leaf spring won't help, I see my other option as replacing the shocks and using the mag ride simulators to trick the car into thinking its ok or having someone disable it using a Tech2.

All GS's have the same springs, the former Z51 springs. The rear Z51 spring is actually "slightly" softer than the base non-Z51 spring but IMO not enough to be worth changing in your situation.

Sounds like you have more going on. Does it rub on both sides? There have been several discussions of cars with the rear cradle offset to the passenger side causing tire rub problems that shouldn't be problems.

both sides. the rear is really soft and goes down easy. after some research I think I'm going to replace the front and rear leaf springs with Z06 ones since they rate is higher. if that doesn't work, i'll replace it all with coil overs and disable the codes it throws with a Tech2 or the simulators.

No need to replace the front spring, the Z06 front spring is the same as the Z51, which you already have on your GS.
