Do you happen to know what the record is for a cam only ls3 manual car? Did Justin have it?

I am out of date I'm sure but I believe I had the manual trans cam-only LS3 record for awhile, if it's still not currently active. Like Joe said, we were racing in lackluster conditions at best so perhaps I could have gone faster but I'm happy to pass the torch. I don't recall if I had my passenger seat out for that pass but it's definitely possible. I know my wife and I drove over to west palm beach for the event but I don't remember if I brought the tools to remove it or not.

Skinnies will do well for you and with some more seat time, I think you might have my 10.6 pass beat. You had the weather on your side for your 10.8 pass so hopefully mother nature cooperates for the January track rental.

Good luck!

Yes Mother Nature was on my side but it still produced the time which I was actually shocked it ran a 10.8 with only a 1.6 60ft. Hopefully January 3rd will have similar weather. Only difference it will be during the day so hopefully the humidity will be low. You're my idol with these
ls3 vettes lol you guys have taught me well.

Justin was by far the best pupil I've ever had, he went from 11.4's and complaining about his cam choice to a trip to my track a month or two later running 1.4 60 foots and flat shifting his way, hot lapping, to 11.6's runs. I think you ran what, 4 hot laps in a row Justin? All on a stock clutch.

Justin is a heck of a driver you'd do well to watch him and listen to him.

Good DA isn't just about a higher trap speed. It also equates to a lower ET since you're putting more power down for the duration of the run. More average power for the 1320' of track=lower ET. Pure and simple. There's a reason why all of the records, or at least many of them, are set at MIR or ATCO when it's -1000 or better.

Thanks Joe. You were a great teacher and I always tell people I learned from one of the best. Ya, I believe it was 4 or 5 runs in less than 30 minutes as the track was shutting down and I was trying like hell to get that 10.60 to have the cam-only record(at the time).

I remember dumping all of the junk in the center console on Melissa's lap trying desperately to shave another .006 off my ET. haha good times

A low 1.5 will be enough to break into the 10.5s I think. I bet you'll do it in January--the question will be, by how much will you beat it...

You're going to have to work on getting rid of that bog by walking out the clutch a little slower like Justin and I do. Its a fine balance.

Yeah i know. Thats my issue. I don't know if my non z51 car, long first gear with stock 3.42's is helping. Honestly my original goal was to just hit a 10.99 haha. so anything now is a complete bonus for me.

Yes that's definitely hurting you. Justin was a z51 with 3.42's I think and I'm a z51 with 4.10's but with an ls2.

You're doing great.

Nice going. Keep us posted and focus on the 330. 10.5's may be tough but that's what makes it fun.

Yeah I don't think it has a 10.5 in it. But I'd like to try. I will post back in here with updates.

You've got to have faith... you went 10.8 with about 70 extra pounds on the nose of the car. Skinnies alone will give you .1-.2. If you can go a mid to low 1.5, I think you'll go the 10.5x.
