I have a 2013 MNZ Grand Sport. The only mods are a Haltech MF103 air intake & a Sprint booster. I use 93 octane fuel in the car on every fill up. I read up in the Manual that it requires/recommends at least 91 octane fuel. It seems like sometimes when I accelerate hard, I hear a faint knock/pinging sound. (I had a '91 Ford Ranger before, so I know what knock/pinging sounds like) I'm just curious about why I would be hearing something resembling pinging if I'm using 93 gas & it's tuned to run on 91?

Mine doesn't even knock if I run 87 octane (done it a couple times not paying attention), so I'm surprised yours is knocking.

Are you sure it is not something else vibrating, sounding like a knock?
