I'm going to be purchasing a cam from BTR most likely, however I'm still very new to this. I had some concerns regarding push-rods, I'm not sure what size push-rods i need most people say its 7.40 but I'm not sure. I was also told that i need to be sure there's enough PTVC my car is a 2008 ls3 bone stock. if anyone out there can guide me through this process, I'm not sure if i need a single bolt cam, or a three bolt is there a difference? also for the cam install kit timing gear several options 58x3 or 24x3? The cam itself is the BTR LS3 Stg IV Cam 233/248 .619"/.595" 113+5 Cam
Sorry if some of these answers are obvious, I'm trying my best to get it done right.
My goals with the car is to be a fun top end car for roll racing or the occasional track day since I live very close to Laguna Seca , I already have 1 7/8th headers, cat-less midpipes, which will all go on at the same time as the cam.
If you're concerned and can afford the downtime I'd suggest ordering a push rod length checker then get some push rods after you've accurately measured.
It is the only way to really know you're doing it right.
I'd talk to BTR as Speedforhire mentioned...they've done enough to guess fairly accurately I'd imagine.
If you're buying the cam from BTR, I suggest you talk to them about your concerns.
your apparently having a bad day, how rude of you to suggest that he should talk to the MFG. you should be banned for life! OR atleast thats what they say to me for stating the obvious, THANKS for letting me know i'm not the only one.
