I'm not doing a cam swap yet. I have bolt ons- headers, cai, and a tune. My problem is I wanted to remove the builders name plate on the fuel rail hold down brackets as per your step 5. But the bolts don't come out because they hit the cowl. I'm assuming you have to remove the intake with those bolts left loose in the intake? Something I didn't want to do just to remove the name plate.

Yes you have to hold the back two bolts up and pull the intake forward to get them out. Clothespins work great for this task.

Have you tried taking the bolts out of the rail? It was a while ago when I did it, but i think if you pop the fuel out and pull it forward just a bit you can get it out. Just remove the schrader cap on the fuel and press it to release fuel pressure. use a towel as to not make a mess. then with the 4 bolts off the rail, slowly pull the rail upward. you don't need new seal. but a little (rubber friendly) lube like super lub with help the rail back in. I am almost certain my came out before I had the intake out.

100% agree. I wasn't intimidated though lol. It's my profession. just another day at the office I wrote this up with the hope of helping those who may be intimidated. it's time consuming but still straight forward.

Loving the results so far PB 10.57@137mph with +2300DA

here is a 10.58run

Great write up... I have done heads and cams on other vehicles but I have been a bit apprehensive on doing it on my GS not knowing how involved it would be... your write up made it look as straight forward as doing heads and cams on any other vehicle so I feel better about doing the work myself now.

Thanks for taking the time to put this together!

SPEED SAFE, NICK
