Ok, so I have the engine back in the car. I'm hooking up the final bits. I have this one connector I cant find where it plugs up. Its the purple plug on the drivers side. Its at the harness break out at the front end of the drivers side injector harness. It is attached at the same location as the 3 wire connector for the alternator, and the 5 wire connector that goes to the CAI. All of this is basically over the alternator. Its a two wire connector. Cant get up a picture cause my internet on my phone isn't working
Look really low under the altanator, side of motor, to the front. It's a little thing
It sounds like you may be talking about the connector on the timing cover. Cam sensor. This connector wont reach that far. In the event there is another low connector that I'm not aware of, please comment again. The other low connector I'm aware of it the knock sensor on the side of the block. Its not that one either.
It almost looks like it may go to the radiator or to the radiator overflow tank. But I don't see a location for it to plug into
,
Gotcha. Yeah its really hidden if this is your first rodeo, which it is for me. I know a lot about these cars but this is the first time I have pulled the engine myself. And after the headers are on,a whole lot of stuff is out of site.
Thanks for the comments.
To be more clear. On the head just in front of the 1st spark plug. Attachment 48061761
Yep, that's it. The other end of the connector may not be there because this is a different engine, I'll have to make sure it wasn't removed.
Might as well ask another question. I wanted to make the injectors work while holding the fuel rail in the air so I can see the fuel spray pattern. The fuel rail and injectors are purchased used and it would be nice to see them operate and atomize the fuel properly. Can you tell me how to go about this. I was goingto have someone crank the engine over while I held the fuel rail up out of the injector ports. Will that work.
The one I'm thinking of is just in front of the first spark plug on the drivers side I don't know what it does I have a 2006 ls2 none of my connectors there are purple. It tees off of the wire that goes to the altanator

You are correct.
Its the coolant temp sensor connector. Thanks for the help
The connectors are different colors on the inside. You have to separate the connectors to reveal the colors

If I were you I'd probably make a long hose that interfaces with the factory fuel feed and stick the rail over the top of an aquarium, some big enough mason jars or just somewhere that isn't the engine bay of the car.

Yeah, I considered doing something like that. Only problem is the injector harness wont reach. I considered removing the coils for no spark
I think I have it figured out on checking the injectors. I pressurized the system. The fuel rail will move way over to the side while the fuel line is attached. Now I can add power to each injector one at a time to check the spray pattern.
