Default VIN isn't programmed into PCM?

2007 Z06 that I picked up a couple months ago. I hooked up HP Tuners to it today (not doing any tuning yet just wanted to get a data log to see how it's running) and it wouldn't read the VIN. I got a data log just fine but HP Tuners just shows the VIN as yyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. I downloaded the tune out of the PCM in the Editor and it wouldn't read the VIN there either. Hp Tuners support told me someone must have swapped PCMs and not programmed the VIN to it.

What are my options now? Should I take it to my local dealer to have them program the VIN to it? Is there a way that I can do it? Is it an issue at all? Car had been running fine with no issues at all.
