Always set the parking brake with an automatic transmission
I recently had the shifter cable break on my 06 coupe, this allowed the car to roll even though it was indicated to be in Park.
I was still in the car and applied the parking brake before there was a collision.
I will now always set the parking brake before exiting the car.
Just a heads up for automatic car owners.

Always a good idea to use that parking brake C6VET, my pet peeve is family members that park on a hill and then let the car roll into the Parking Brake Pawl in the transmission which torques up the driveline before they set the parking brake. Next person to drive the car has to apply excessive force to get the transmission out of park and then it releases with a big Twang.

Diff Rubber snubbers
Great photo of the rubber snubber, but it is the upper half that goes bad! you can't see it without a mirror, and even then it's tough to see. When I finally took the bolt out and reached in there, all I got was rubber bits and dust! totally solved the clunk I had for years, I used poly bushings..

Got to love Hilly coast areas like CA, where you can get a ticket for not having your wheels clocked the correct direction or enough when the car is parked on a hill as well.
IIRQ, it was like a $175 dollar ticket in SD when parked up the street hill at Windansea beach since I didn't have the front wheel cocked enough that if the E brake let loose, car was not going to end up in someone yard fast enough.
