Default Air intake cover on 2007 LS2

I replaced the air filters on my 2007 LS2. The flimsy plastic cover that goes over both air fillers is not fitting tightly and moves around. Can i just leave it off or will that cause a problem?

I had the same problem with my LS2, intake, clips that attached the cover were brittle and broke, not keeping the cover tight.

I replaced it with Airaid system, there on the forum here, has vender with good price, easy installations, instructions were perfect.

I know what you are going though, my advice replace it, you want filtered air, not dirty air getting into the intake.

That's my two cents.

As EOM designed installed that cover does not have a firm fit/ securing.
Perhaps some Velcro?

I believe the cover's purpose to is to prevent water entering the air filters when one opens the hood.
I'd write you can leave it off and have no drivability issues.
