Default 2005 ECM Replacement Where to buy?

I have been having trouble with my 2005 C6 dying after 40-50 minutes of running, all evidence is starting to point at a bad ECM.
So if I have to get one, where is the best place to save money and maybe get a one with a good flash?
Here are the threads.

Did you pull codes, and the codes are stating the the ECM is the problem???

Please look at the threads.
I went so far as to buy a Tech 2.
Sometimes it sets off a code other times not.
I have multiple snapshots, and nothing really points to anything in particular.
The one thing that is looking bad, is it died and I looked at the injector control and it stayed lit and wasn't flashing.

What is really strange is the lack of answers. There was a time when a problem like this would garner dozens of answers in no time.
I have not had time for forums for quite a while, but finally getting a huge job through compliance has given me some more time.Things have changed.

It looks as if your ECM part number is: GM 19210071

$255.07
https://www.gmdiscountautoparts.com/...89Jnk9JnQ9JmU9

$250.43
https://www.gmpartsdirect.com/oem-parts/gm-ecm-19210071

Matt,
The good part is there is a Summit where I live and can go pick it up.
Now I have to learn about getting it flashed. And I have a Tech 2, but I have not been able to determine if I can do it with that..

With a Tech 2 you should be able to code the/your VIN into the new ECM and load a stock tune from GM for the 2005 right into it.

Personally I have not done this myself, but I have only seen it done and know it can be done.

I am sure there is someone who is going to be able to assist you through it or there is a Forum that will have some help in aiding you through the steps/process.

Please keep us posted - if I can be of any help I will -

Thanks,Matt

Thanks,
I have done a bit of reading but it isn't quite clear what I really need to do.
Also whenever I find a solution to a problem I make sure that every thread that had something to do with it gets updated. I hate finding a thread that has your problem and dead ends without a solution.

You might even try calling some of the shops near by (tuning shops) that use the Tech 2 because at times ECM's take a dump or they come in with a locked tune and they have to use a Tech 2 to recode a "New" ECM with the Tech 2 -

Perhaps they will have mercy and give you some help or guidance - It won't hurt to give them a ring or drop by and talk with them (dropping by, if close enough, usually is best)

Thanks,Matt

I have tried. And have not been able to get hold of him. I tried a private message and an email. No reply. That was a few days ago.
Do you have any idea how to get hold of him? I wouldn't mind getting an ECU that has a mild tune on it.

So,
On to the next chapter in the dying C6.
I talked to Chuck (COW) and he convinced me to get an ECM from him with his tune in it.
What that means is that hopefully this will cure the problem. If not it takes the ECM out of the picture and leaves some still hidden problem.
But is does get me a tune that Chuck promises will make me smile. Okay I'm game.
As I explained to him I think cars are slow and dangerous. I'll take a bike with escape routes, ungodly acceleration, and brakes from hell.
I have been a member of this board for over 15 years and never once asked how to make this or any previous Vette go faster.
So something new for me.
Hopefully this nightmare is over.
To be continued.........

Well - glad to hear things are moving forward and that the ECM compatibility will be addressed -

Just make sure that the tune isn't locked when you get it, just incase something goes wrong, talk to Mr. Cow, I'm sure he'll work with you, not sure if he locks his ECM's or not.

Thanks,Matt
