Default Can anyone tell me what this is please?

The previous owner of my 2005 C6 somehow managed to butcher a lot of the wiring in the car which i am trying to put back to OEM.
Can anyone tell me what the unit in the picture is for......It sits behind
the right hand kick panel in the passenger well and the PO has cut the yellow and green wires from the BCM and attached the white wires going to the gold units.
I can cut the yellow and green wires from the BCM and re-attache to the original wires but what would connect to the old units and what are they for?
Any advice appreciated.

Just seeing those power resistors I would bet it's for LED blinkers so the load is there & the flasher doesn't quick-flash. I haven't done any up front wiring, nor do I have schematics to check, to know if those colors are blinker wires up front.

I know green in the back is backup lights but that doesn't help you much

I have the standard blinkers not LED so not sure about that.
So are those old units not an OEM item?
If not then i guess i can just reconnect the yellow and green wires back to original.
I was more worried about what should attache to those old units if i removed the yellow and green from them, but if the old units are not OEM then i will just leave them disconnected.

I have two just like those and in about the same location. Mine came with a kit that made the day time running lights illuminate white instead of amber, at least most of the time. Mike is right they are resistors used to prevent hyper-flash.

Yes i think your both right, they do appear to be something to do with DLR hyper flash i have read up on. Just very strange that they are tapped into the back up light circuit from the BCM.
Just now wondering what will happen if i disconnect them....
I could try it and revers it if my lights go mental..

Brings to mind an old saying from my dad:
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Of course, there's always:
If it ain't broke, keep dicking with it until it is

Good luck & let us know how it goes

thats very true....im just trying to get as much back to OEM as i can.
I might just leave it alone, i have a bigger problem to sort with the OEM speaker cables that have been chopped from original location and put in a plastic block for an aftermarket stereo, i now have to try to find how the speaker wires connect into the Bose amp, i cant find a connector anywhere that comes from the amp to the speakers via a connector....
It's giving me a headache

The previous owner may have installed LED backup bulbs and then found that they were pulsing so he added the resisters to stop the pulsing.

Start the car and look at the DLR's....if they are white but go to yellow when turn signal is on then you will know for sure a kit is installed and working.

No idea what they are connected to, but those are undoubtedly LED resistors. They are used with DRLs to prevent hyper-flash (blinker blinking at a MUCH faster rate, as there is no traditional bulb acting as a resistor) . I have LED DRLs in my vette, but opted against the resistors; hyper flash doesn't bother me. Money says they are either connected to the front DRLs, rear driving lights, or possibly the rear tails, if there is another set of them screwed in somewhere hidden on the drivers side.
