Default Looking to buy replacement rotors/pads

Hey guys.
kinda new to these cars. Basically I'm looking to replace my rotors and pads as mine are about spent. Just wondering what people use when they replace theirs. Don't need anything fancy. Also, something that doesn't create gobs of brake dust like my current ones do would be nice.

Thanks!

What kind of C6 do you have?
Base, Z51(J55), Grand Sport, Z06, ZR1?

If base or Z51, then Centric Pemium rotors and Autozone Duralast Gold ceramic brake pads.

Centric Premium rotors with DBA SP500 or Hawk yellows (one peice pads) is probably how I would go. But I don't have a Z06 so take my advice with a grain of salt.

No, depending on the miles of the rotors?

A quality aftermarket brake pad would be the Carbotech 1521 in the 1 piece design. They work fine with OE rotors.

Carbotech™ Bobcat 1521™ The Carbotech Bobcat 1521™ is our high performance street compound that is our most successful compound. The Bobcat compound is known for its awesome release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. Like our AX™ & XP™ line of compounds, Bobcat 1521™ is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non-corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser. The Bobcat 1521™ compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer. That’s one of the beauties of Carbotech Ceramic brake compounds. Bobcat 1521™ is NOT recommended for any track use.

Thanks for the info. I've seen a lot of good things about the 1521 pads. Looks like I may go with those and order factory replacement rotors. I do not track the car and realistically I don't think I'll ever have to stand on the brakes unless I go to the dragstrip

We have some DBA rotors on sales for the C6Z06 - under $400 for all four.

How many miles do you have on your Z. I just did my brake pad swap on my 08Z with $27K miles, rotors were in great shape. I got tired of the brake squeal and brake dust I got for the OEM pads. I don't track my car and opted for the Duralast Gold padlets and am very happy with them. I have a couple hundred city miles on them and have no squeaking and no dust as of yet.

Duralast Gold Fronts DG1419 12 Pads $59.99

Duralast Gold Rears DG1419A 8 Pads $41.99
