Default Injector Life Question

Quick question for those more knowledgeable than I.

Does running a set of injectors at 100% IDC on the street for <5000miles drastically reduce their lifespan?

Needing more flow for my solid roller HCI Ls7, and found a set of Bosch 56lb LSA/9 injectors for under $300. Want to pull the trigger, but don't want them to crap out on me after a month.

Suggestions?

I'm assuming you are talking about 100% duty cycle or basically keeping the injectors wide open continuously. That won't hurt the injectors, it will actually cause less wear because they are not opening and closing. However, it's considered very bad practice because the ECU will not be able to increase fueling if the sensors indicate it should because of a lean condition. However, how much of the time would you be spending at 100% duty cycle? I'm assuming not more than a few seconds at a time. So it won't hurt the injectors but it might hurt your engine.

100% duty cycle will put a little more heat into the injectors but they can handle it, the fuel going through them cools them. We run injectors wide open for 60 seconds on test stands all the time. We also test them at double current for much longer with no damage.

Thanks for the quick response! I was asking since I am looking to buy a used set off someone that had only a couple thousand miles on them, but at %100+ duty cycle. I just wanted to make sure that they wouldn't be damaged from running that high of a IDC. He had them flow tested after removing, and pair that with your information given, I feel good about buying them. Thanks!
