Default My 08 Dyno numbers

I have not really posted anything on here before but I wanted to share my little experience with everyone.

I have a bone stock 08 base model that I just picked up with 76K miles on her. Recently I took the car to Race Proven Motorsports in Delaware to have American Racing 1 7/8 headers with high flow cats, Vararam intake, plugs and a tune performed. First, huge shout out to RPM, Bill handled all of my questions with professionalism, and the shop did an awesome job with the tune.

The car laid down a baseline of 407whp and 414wtq.

After the headers, high flow cats, intake and tune the car made 442WHP and 444WTQ.

The car is a blast to drive now, I couldn't be happier. Now it's time for a cam package.....

Default dyno

Wow, never seen any numbers that high for an exhaust, CAI n tune. Also never seen ant numbers like that on base line that is bone stock much less 76K miles on it.

The car is a M6 and I did have billy boat bullets on it for a the baseline pull. Sorry i didnt mention that before, I didnt think an axle back would really add to wheel HP.

Also here is Race Proven Motorsports youtube web series video . My car is on their dyno at the 16:38 mark.

They are just #s. Don’t get wrapped up in them. I large shop by me tuned my A6 after I installed headers only. The graph showed 450 lol.

To the OP...ya, the mods are a nice improvement over stock

Yeah, those numbers do seem on the high side from what I have seen, but the most important point is the before/after delta. Nice gains with the headers, intake and tune!

Thanks man, I'm new to the LS3 engine myself, but I am really happy with how the car responded to the little mods I added to it.

Don't worry about the raw numbers they don't matter. Most people prefer sae results when comparing to others, but regardless a 30+ whp/tq gain is really nice.

The improvement is about right but in my experience all the values are high like about 25 hp. Just saying.

The only time a dyno number means anything is for a back to back test after tuning, mods, etc. you are just looking for changes. The absolute numbers really mean very little.

No problem, I really enjoyed the whole process. And yes, a cam is definitely going to happen. I'm thinking maybe end of summer or fall.

I'm hoping to get some 1/4 mile runs in soon as well. When I do, I'll post up those times as well.

Good ole Dynojet is great for ones ego is all I can say. Every time I see numbers that give me pause, I see their name on the slips
Its really your butt that tells you right. Mine made a LOT less than yours but yet after Kooks, hi flow cats, new plugs & wires, dyno tune I absolutely knew it was dramatically stronger
NSF
PS it was tuned on a DynoDynamics
